How to Submit

The Patient Insight Institute inaugural Patient Insight Congress will take place this fall, on November 2-4, 2022. This interactive conference will be held onsite in Washington, DC at the Hyatt House located in The Wharf. We will bring together 75 patients, caregivers, researchers and policymakers who will have the opportunity to connect and learn from one another. Specifically, we think this unique event will help patients and other advocates learn more about the research process and why their voice and representation are so important.

For more information, check out the Frequently Asked Questions.

We invite you to submit an abstract highlighting your work for a rapid poster session* taking place on Thursday, November 3. Our goal for the rapid poster session is to showcase projects that amplify the under-represented patient voice. Suggested research topics are listed below, however abstracts reflecting other topics of interest to patients, policymakers and health services researchers attending the Patient Insight Congress will also be considered.

Research topics of interest:

  • Social needs navigation

  • Patient-Centered Research

  • Engagement Science

  • Addressing SDOH from patient/community perspective

  • Impact of non-medical needs on patient care

To be considered for this opportunity, an abstract of less than 500 words can be submitted, and previously presented work is encouraged and eligible. All accepted abstracts will be shared on the Patient Insight Institute webpage and poster presentations will be 5-7 minutes in length.

The abstract submission deadline is August 5, 2022. Authors will be notified of their acceptance no later than August 21, 2022.

Registration fees will be waived for the primary presenter of  accepted posters.

*Rapid Poster Presentation:

This unique breakout session will provide each poster presenter 5 minutes to summarize the findings of their research to a small group of attendees lead by PAF staff. At the end of each presentation, approximately 2 minutes will be allocated for Q&A. We anticipate that each group will have the opportunity to engage with approximately 4-5 presenters. Posters will also be available for attendees to view in between sessions.
